Three, if some reason Adobe loses my cloud data, and I actually want to revisit and re-edit an image from ground zero, I have are a lot of nuances in there. Two, solves my paranoia that I have the originals if I was ever to love the online Adobe catalog and also my exported backups. This serves three purposes, makes the home machine faster as it never needs to download the original image. Then just because I am slightly OCD (or paranoid) I enable keep a copy of all originals on my home machine. I actually do this in a couple formats since I have the spare diskspace and offsite backup capacity. What matters to me is the final edited image so on a regular basis I run a full export of all images I want to save (2 stars or better in my case) with 100% quality. When I was considering making the jump, I had one critical realization. My backup mentality has changed over the years some. So, Adobe currently does not have a good way for you to backup your cloud catelog. Short answer: Adobe wants you to trust them. lrcat to the current version, then get Adobe to swap my plan? Or will I have to sign up for the 20Gb Photography plan to get current LrC, upgrade the. If I sign up for the Lightroom 1Tb plan will the LrD migration tool read and ingest a LrClassic v9.4. But all the advice seems to assume both LrC and Lr Cloudy are current versions. Meantime, I've used the legacy LrC 9.4 installation to optimise and do all the suggested prep work on the catalog as detailed in these forums/Blog. I've now dropped the iMac and updated hardware to iPad Air5 and M1 MacBook Pro 14" and now want to return to subscribing, but to a mobile/cloud iPad/Macbook workflow. I have a LrC v9.4 catalog (542Mb) stored on an external 1Tb SSD along with the (440Gb) original image files (so that I could work on the old iMac at home or MacBook when travelling). My old 2015 MacBook is on Mojave to retain compatibility with the iMac so I cannot currently download current versions, but can be upgraded to Monterey. Hardware issues meant I paused my LrClassic sub in 2019 as I couldn't upgrade my old iMac MacOS beyond High Sierra. ![]()
